Days 1 and 2

1. You will start off by writing a paragraph (five sentences) about what shapedaeand color you would like to add to Lucky Charms cereal and why. (Think about your favorite shape or color to help you get started.) Use this SP Paragraph Starter.docx to help get you started

Ø When you are finished proof read it and print it out.
Ø Save it to your grade folder on the shared drive with your initials lucky (i.e. aslucky)



2. After you finish your paragraph you will create a Lucky Charm picture using MS paint.

Ø What is the luckiest thing that ever happened to you?
Ø Save it to your grade folder on the shared drive as your initials lucky (i.e. aslucky)

When you have finished the paragraph and picture you can play St. Patrick’s Day games or you can post on the website.





Day 3 and 4

1. When you have finished your picture you will be given some Lucky Charms to separate into appropriate piles. Don’t eat any until you have counted them twice!


  • Count how many are in each pile by making tally marks on this Tally sheet.pdf sheet that you need to print out.
  • When you have finished counting and tallying you will transfer the tally marks onto this LuckyCharms Excel.xlsx. Watch the graph change as you enter your data.
  • Save it in your grade shared folder as your initials lucky (i.e. aslucky)
  • Next open up this General Mills Lucky Charms Cereal.docx and type in how many words you can make out of General Mills Lucky Charms Cereal as possible.


2. Next you will make up a story about what it is like in a day in the life as a Lucky Charm. Use Microsoft word. Your story must be at least one paragraph long.


  • Make sure there is a title and your name is on the story.
  • Save it as your initials story (i.e. asstory) in your grade shared folder



Day 5 and 6

As a class we are going to combine our results. Write down your prediction in the discussion session about how many Green clovers you think there are in the entire box.
